  • New fiberglass vessel in Guimaras launched

    The Jordan Motorbanca Cooperative (JMBC) launched its newly-acquired fiberglass vessel on Oct 31, 2021 at Jordan Wharf in Barangay Rizal, Jordan, Guimaras . The Jordan Ferry 6 will ply the Jordan-Iloilo route, vice versa. The newest addition to JMBC’s fleet that cost P7 million was acquired through the assistance of the provincial government of Guimaras.
  • Sea trips for small vessels halted due to gale warning

    A gale warning was issued morning of Aug 5, 2019 in Western Visayas, forcing the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to again cancel sea trips between Bacolod City and Iloilo City. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) said Western Visayas is expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. PAGASA said the region can also experience 45 to 63 kilometers per hour winds, with sea conditions from rough to very rough and wave heights measured between 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
  • Regular checking of all Bacolod sea vessels urged

    The Sangguniang Panlungsod here urged the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) to conduct a regular inspection of all sea vessels plying the waters of this city. “The PCG and Marina should ensure that the sea vessels are properly equipped with adequate life-saving and communications instruments during their operations,” said councilor Bartolome Orola. He further said the recent capsizing of three boats in Iloilo Straight served as a lesson to strengthen the city’s maritime safety policies.
