local.descriptionIt’s all systems go for the importation of 30,000 metric tons (MT) of small pelagic fish during the closed fishing season, according to the Department of Agriculture (DA). Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. issued Special Order (SO) 1272 which assigned Isidro Velayo Jr., officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), as the approving official for the issuance of sanitary and phytosanitary import clearances (SPSICs).
