local.descriptionGuimaras’ fisheries production continued to rise in the past three years, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Guimaras Office. PSA-Guimaras attributed the continuous upward trend in the province’s fisheries production to municipal fishing which influenced two-third of the total fishery production. Municipal fishing which refers to fishing within municipal waters using fishing vessels of three gross tons or less, or fishing not requiring the use of fishing vessels, gained 22.2 percent and continued to move up by 1.5 percent in 2016 in the province.
