To protect the country’s sea waters against the proliferation of marine pollution, Cebu’s maritime industry players and regulators have also renewed their commitment to the MARPOL convention against the discharge of sea pollutants.

(The Manila Times Publishing Corporation, 2020-05-13)AN online platform to enable Filipino fishermen to sell their produce to consumers amid the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) community quarantine was launched at Silliman University in Dumaguete City. Fish Tiangge is an online marketplace that was developed by the United States government through the United States Agency for International Development (Usaid) Fish Right project. The Fish Right program is being implemented by the University of Rhode Island in partnership with local universities and nongovernment organizations.
