  • Sea turtle rescued in Cagayan

    An adult Olive ridley sea turtle, accidentally caught by a local fisherman in the coastal waters of Abulug, Cagayan, was examined and released back into the sea on Thursday, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) reported on Sunday. The turtle, measuring 67 centimeters long and 61 centimeters wide, was unintentionally caught by Epo Cabayu, a fisherman from Siguiran village.
  • Green sea turtle found in Sagay

    A green sea turtle was rescued after it was stranded on the coastline of Barangay Taba-ao, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Sunday. Based on the report of the Sagay Marine Reserve (SMR), the turtle got stranded in one of the fishnets of a fishing boat on the shore of Purok Paglaum. The male sea turtle weighed 150 kilograms and measured 47 inches in length and 38 inches in width.
