- Fisheries Administrative Order No. 245: Series of 2012. Regulations and implementing guidelines on group tuna purse seine operations in high seas pocket number 1 as a special management area.(Department of Agriculture, 2012)The Order provides for conservation, management and sustainable producing bigeye, yellowfin, skipjack tuna stocks in the high seas and exclusive economic zones within the framework of International Convention on the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean and adapted local resolutions in the Philippines. This Administrative Order covers the registered traditional group seine fishing vessels granted access to the HSP1-SMA which is the area of the high seas bounded by the EEZs of the named Federated States in the Order with exact coordination by Vessel Monitoring System. The Order provides for compliance to the criteria and procedures in the allocation of fishing access listed in Section 3 among others referring to issues of tonnage of vessel, fishing vessel registration, catch documentary compliance, no criminal record identification, letter of intent, preliminary list and allocation. The Order further provides for observer coverage, vessel monitoring system, reporting, vessel listing, monitoring of port landings, catch limit, net mesh size, use of fish aggregating device (FAD), nature of access right and penalties. The Order consists of 17 Articles.

Rules and regulations on tuna purse seine/ring net operations in the pacific seaboard of the Philippines exclusive economic zone (EEZ).(Department of Agriculture, 2023-01-27)This Administrative Order covers Philippine registered purse seine and ringnet catcher fishing vessels of more than thirty (30) Gross Tons (GT) targeting tuna with valid Commercial Fishing Vessel License (CFVL) and their corresponding support vessels operating within the Pacific Seaboard of the Philippine EEZ and listed in the WCPFC Records of Fishing Vessels. The Order provides on fishing days limit, qualification to access fishing in Philippine Pacific EEZ, vessel monitoring measures, vessel listing, catch logsheet, use of fish aggregating device and access right. The text consists of 18 Articles.
- BFAR Administrative Circular No. 251: Series of 2014. Traceability system for fish and fishery products.(Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, 2014-05-16)This Circular, consisting of 12 sections and two Annexes, establishes the traceability system for wild-caught and farmed fish and other aquatic products. It covers the following business operations: a) Wild-caught (fishing boats or vessels; landing at ports, buying stations and auction markets; pre-processing, cold storage and processing plants; transporters and dry warehouses; and, traders, shippers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers). Aquaculture (fish feeding producers; hatcheries and breeders; wild fry suppliers; nurseries; aquaculture/growing farms; buying station/auction market; live fish transporters; pre-processing and processing plants; transporters, cold stores and dry warehouses; traders, shippers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers). This Circular shall apply to all Fishery and Aquatic Business Operators (FABOs) directly or indirectly involved in the production and processing of fishery and aquatic products for export, provided, that the Department, through subsequent regulations, shall coordinate with other regulatory agencies and the Local Government Unit (LGUs) in the application of this Circular for Fisheries and Aquaculture products intended for domestic consumption.

(Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, 2022-03-25)There is an increasing number of Filipino fishermen who are casting their nets in Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales to earn a living despite the steady presence of China Coast Guard (CCG), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Friday, March 25. “The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has confirmed the increasing presence of Filipino fishermen in Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales,” said Admiral Artemio Abu, PCG commandant, in a statement. Bajo de Masinloc, also known as Scarborough Shoal and Panatag Shoal, is located 124 nautical miles west of Zambales, and is within the country’s 200-nautical mile exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
