The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) yesterday issued another appeal to the public to refrain from gathering and eating shellfish from one city and seven towns of Bataan. Red tide toxin, which causes paralytic shellfish poisoning remains present in these areas,†said Lanie Lamyong, information officer of the BFAR regional office.

But BFAR warned residents of Palawan, Bataan, Masbate, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar of gathering and eating shellfishes. The bulletin showed that there are high levels of the red tide toxin these areas.
